No matter how much debt you may have, don't be discouraged. Making positive moves (no matter
how small they are) can make a difference. Some people reject the idea of budgeting because they
are scared of what they might find out about their income and expenses. If you know you might
have more going out than you have coming in, it can be tough to face up to the reality of your
situation - that's understandable. But the sooner you do this, the quicker you'll resolve your
problem. Avoid falling behind on payments. Late payments incur late fees and they can damage
your credit rating as well. Why not bite the bullet now and set up a budget? Allocate a
little time to sit down with your bills and bank statements and figure out where you stand. Let

One of the most amazing features of this software
is the concept of NOT tracking actual amounts against the budgeted
figures. You allocate ALL income and ALL expenses (even "spending
money" and savings). It simply tells you where you SHOULD be and allows you
to make adjustments to keep you on track. Actual users of this software
have gone from not knowing whether they could afford to pay their bills
to thousands of dollars in savings accounts in only one year!
On all screens, a light-blue-colored field allows you to
Peform
A Search to find the data.
The Income Maintenance program contains information about your
sources of income.

Income Maintenance lets you specify from where the
income is derived. The Record Number is simply a
way to identify each item. For example ...
if you worked at ABC Corporation and brought home $401.63
each Friday, you would enter "ABC
Corporation" in the Description, 401.63 in the Amount, set
the
drop-box to "Weekly", and mark
"Friday" (the other items on the screen don't matter for weekly
income).
If you brought home $689.46 every other Thursday,
you would set the drop-box to "Bi-weekly", mark
"Thursday", and mark whether you
would have received a check on Thursday of the 1st Week of the year
or the 2nd Week under the Bi-weekly
section.

The Expense Maintenance program contains information about your
expenses (bills).

Expense Maintenance allows you to enter all of
your "bills" (including savings and pocket cash).
For example ... if you make a $327.14 car payment
each month that you send off by the 10th, you would
enter "Car Payment" in the Description,
327.14 in the Amount, 01/10/2009 in Date 1 (if you started
your payments in March of 2010, you would enter
03/10/2009), and set the Cycle to "Monthly". The
system will check all the appropriate boxes for
you, and will maintain this each year automatically. The
Spec Fund (Special Fund) lets you specify a
fund number for tracking things like money allocated for
vacations or Christmas-clubs.

Each week bills can be identified so you don't miss your payments.

After you pay your bills, the Ending Balance
is what should remain in your accounts to be able to pay your bills
next week, and each following week throughout the
year. As long as you have at least that amount, you are on
track to a healthy (all-bills-paid) year.
Any amount over that amount is your extra (savings) money and can be
put aside (into an interest-bearing account).

Checking/savings accounts can be maintained and
reconciled.

To make entries for your main checking account,
enter "C" in [C]hk/[S]av, followed by a "1" in the Code.
Enter a check number or a deposit number (or code)
in Chk/Dep No, followed by a transaction (or check)
date in Trans Date. You may enter a Description
(or pay to) and the Amount. If this line was a deposit,
press the spacebar in [D]ep - this will
place an "X" there. The Acct Bal (account balance) will
be displayed
and should match your manual check register in
your checkbook (some people don't make the calculations
themselves, but fill it in after this option tells
them the amount). If you are reconciling against your statement,
find the line you need, and press the spacebar in Rec
to place an "X" there and mark it as reconciled. There
is a button at the top of the screen (not seen
here) to remove reconciled lines, when you are satisfied that you
match the bank statement. This will get you
ready for the next month with a beginning balance at the top line.
